Boy, 17, killed and man, 18, injured in Hamilton stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has died after he was stabbed in the chest in an incident that sent another young man to hospital.

Hamilton Police say officers responded to a plaza at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday and found the teen suffering from a serious injury to his chest.

An 18-year-old was also found suffering from minor stab wounds to his upper body.

Police say both victims were taken to hospital, where the younger of the two died and the older had his injuries treated.

Investigators say they believe the incident happened after the pair got into a fight with two other males.

A friend of the victims showed up and started driving them to hospital but pulled into the plaza and called 911 when he realized how serious their injuries were, police say.

Investigators are looking for the two people believed to be involved in the stabbing and a third person who drove them away from the scene.
