Mississauga man, 44, arrested in relation to sexual assault from 1998

A 44-year-old Mississauga man has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault that occurred in the city more than 20 years ago.

On Friday, Jan. 11, a woman in her 30s reported an incident that occurred when she was younger, in the summer of 1998. Peel Regional Police say the victim was a student at a martial arts centre in the Park Royal neighbourhood of Mississauga. She was allegedly sexually assaulted by a karate instructor on three separate occasions.

Amanullah Yousufy, 44, of Mississauga was arrested on Friday, Jan. 11, and is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference. He has a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday, Jan. 12.
