Browns rookie class ranked No. 1 by Pro Football Focus

No NFL team got more of a boost in the win column from its rookie class than the Cleveland Browns in 2018. That’s the finding from Pro Football Focus, which calculated the value of the rookie contributions for every team and how it impacted the wins for the teams.

Cleveland came in No. 1, which is not really a surprise. Baker Mayfield won NFL Rookie of the Week seven times and spearheaded a massive spike in productivity in the second half of the season under now-head coach Freddie Kitchens. The No. 1 overall pick was joined by stellar No. 4 overall pick Denzel Ward, a Pro Bowl CB as a rookie. Second-round RB Nick Chubb and fifth-round LB Genard Avery also helped the Browns jump from 0 wins in 2017 to 7 in 2018.
