Vancouver Island rattled by pair of earthquakes

Port Hardy, on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, was rattled by a pair of earthquakes on Wednesday.

The first quake, measuring 4.1, was detected at 2:54 p.m. and centred 188 kilometres west of Port Hardy.

A second quake, which measured 4.8, hit the same area at 4:34 p.m.

Earthquakes Canada says there have been no reports of damage and a tsunami is not expected.
